Susan Brown – Producer
Susan is a Project Manager at Lucasfilm and brings over 20 years of experience managing million dollar budgets and large global teams. She has been credited in Technology on Noah, Avengers: The Age of Ultron and Star Wars: Rogue One. She also has a strong passion for the ocean and produced the Monterey Shootout Underwater Film Festival for three years while serving as the President of Northern California Underwater Photographic Society raising over $50,000 in prizes each year.

Andreas B. Heide – Marine Biologist & Captain
The proud owner and captain of Barba. With the sea and adventure as a passion a sailing boat serves as the ultimate tool of exploring it. Andreas grew up next to the ocean in Stavanger and has been addicted to it ever since. The expeditions and sailing benefits from his background in the Norwegian Navy with diving, parachuting and maritime operations as key ingredients. He is amongst others educated as a marine biologist.

As a documentary Producer/Director/DP Matt leads teams to every corner of the Earth and into some of the most extreme environments imaginable in order to bring home the story. His passions lie with telling stories that make a difference.
After over a decade and the seven episode PBS series Jean-Michel Cousteau Ocean Adventures, Matt has emerged as an experienced and accomplished filmmaker.
Matt continues to seek out and support projects that are committed to socially and ecologically sustainable missions.

David González Buendía – Director of Photography
Originally from Madrid, Spain, David moved to Arctic Norway fascinated by the wild beauty of the North. Based in Tromsø, Norway, since 2013, where set up his own company: Buendia Media. Experienced filming in harsh environments such as the arctic. Specialized in low light conditions, he’s one of the very first to film in real-time the Northern Lights. Last winter joined the Barba expedition to capture some never before seen footage. Certificated drone pilot (R03) with 6 years experience.

Meet the Arctic Sound Scientists
Heike Vester – Biologist / Founder / Director of Ocean Sounds
Specialist in social behaviour & bio-acoustics of marine mammals
- Born in Germany, studied Biology in Berlin and moved to Northern Norway in 1998.
- 1999-2003 Master in Arctic Biology and Physiology at the University of Tromsø.
- Moved to Henningsvær / Lofoten in 2004 and founded Ocean Sounds in August 2005 with the goal to conduct independent research and conservation and combine it with tourism and art.
- Since 2003 studies the behavior and communication of Orcas in the Vestfjord, in northern Norway.
- Since 2006 studies of all whales and dolphins, in particular long-finned pilot whales in the Vestfjord.
- 2008-2010 Scientific Tourism project in Patagonia, Chile.
- 2012-2016 lecturer for Animal Behavior and Biology of Marine Mammals at the University of Nordland in Bodø.
- 2017 PhD in Biology on the vocal behavior of killer whales and long-finned pilot whales in northern Norway – in cooperation with the Cognitive Ethology Group/German Primate Center at the University of Göttingen in Germany, the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organization.
- Since 2015 whale and dolphin research and conservation in Raja Ampat, Indonesia in cooperation with the University of Papua in Manokwari, several resorts and liveaboards.
