About Us

Way North Films

WHO ARE WE?

Way North Films is a Norwegian/US partnership born of a common love for the ocean and not enough common sense to know when to quit. Andreas B. Heide and Matthew Ferraro together created a production company that marries their individual talents into a force for telling the stories of science and the ocean.

A fusion of talents striving for excellence in each and every film we create.

OUR MISSION

Science is not just research and the accumulation of data. Behind each study and conclusion there is adventure and a human story that can connect us all. Our aim is to bring those stories to the public with the intention of inspiring the conservation of nature.

Conveying Science Through Storytelling

Andreas B. Heide – Producer

The proud owner and captain of Barba. With the sea and adventure as a passion a sailing boat serves as the ultimate tool of exploring it. Andreas grew up next to the ocean in Stavanger and has been addicted to it ever since. The expeditions and sailing benefits from his background in the Norwegian Navy with diving, parachuting and maritime operations as key ingredients. He is amongst others educated as a marine biologist.
